Jay got his BFA in Film & Television from Depaul University with a concentration in Cinematography. Growing up making action films with friends drawing inspiration from Youtube channels like Corridor Digital, Rocket Jump, and Film Riot, Jay has been pursuing a career as an independent artist alongside working in the film industry. He has worked on music videos, short films, feature films, alongside producing and hosting showcases for artist communities to present their art to new audiences.
Why not?
I think it is important, especially in today’s age of mental absence and escapism, to make art that matters. To do so you have to have your intentions in the right place. You have to be curious about the mysteries of the universe and humble enough to appreciate the annoying parts. I don’t think all art is supposed to be likeable or marketable, it needs to move.
I think film and music are intertwined because of the inability to roughly define what they are. In simple terms, they are simply records of something incredible once done, that is all we are trying to do. Make incredible happen and move on to the next thing.

This music video for Chicago's Smoke Benito showcases extensive visual effects that bring a living room set to life. I conceptualized and executed the cloning effects and dynamic zooms, crafting a super active and lively visual that amplifies the song's energy and thematic depth.

For "Winded," I aimed to visually capture the artist's intense passion for this song. Shot at an artist center in Ravenswood, we used extensive lighting to highlight raw live performances and freestyle raps, effectively translating his deep connection to the music through powerful visuals.
